An All-American Community Celebration and Field of Honor ...
Over 3,000 American flags will be on display in Downtown Merriam and along Johnson Dr. and Nieman in Shawnee.
Here are some of the ways you can help
Flag assembly -- Merriam Public Works, 6901 Knox Lane, on Tuesday, 6/17 from 6-9 pm
Mission accomplished! Due to the combined efforts of 58 volunteers,
3,000 flags are ready to be "planted" on 6/28. Thank you, thank you!
Mark areas for flag placement (before 6/28)
Well Done! Markings made it thru the night's storm in tact!
Haul and set-up flags -- meet at Merriam Marketplace on Saturday, 6/28 starting at 6:00 a.m.
Flags are all "planted" -- a beautiful sight to behold! Thanks to all who helped.
Security -- all night each night of the display
Take down, haul, and store flags -- meet at Merriam Marketplace on Saturday, 7/5
starting at 8:00 a.m.
All the flags are down and safely stored until their next event. The fields are empty, and
the many volunteers have headed home -- weary, but proud of another suceessful
community effort to create a beautiful and inspiring display.
